There are celebrations dedicated to saints that are specific to different regions. There are feasts dedicated to patron saints as well as many other traditions that are quite different from any others in the world.

Palm Sunday is also accorded a lot of attention and the celebrations in Spain are quite major. Palm Sunday sees the people go to church while the little ones are made to carry some palm leaves that are in turn blessed by the priests. Ash Wednesday is also important in the Spanish calendar. Ashes are applied as a sign of patience and to remind everyone that we are from the ashes and to ashes shall we return. Fasting marks the lent season. All this festivities are very attractive to pilgrims and generally to a number of tourists.
